The 24PinTech website is constantly being updated throughout the school year, and with the updates, come backups. The backup manager that we use is UpdraftPlus, which is very simple for what we need to use it for.
Prerequisites
Before you are able to back up your site, you need to make sure it is running on WordPress. You need admin rights on the WordPress website.
Installation
- Log into your WordPress website's admin account
- You will be on the "Dashboard" section, switch to "Plugins".
- From the "Plugins" page you will see three sub-sections, "Installed Plugins", "Add New", and "Plugin Editor", select "Add New"
- Look in the top right of the "Add Plugins" page, and find the search bar. Select it and type "UpdraftPlus". Press Enter.
- Look for the plugin "UpdraftPlus WordPress Backup Plugin" (usually the first one,) and select "Install Now", complete the install process.
Usage
- Once you have completed the installation of UpdraftPlus you may navigate back to the "Dashboard".
- At the top of your screen on the toolbar you will see an UpdraftPlus option. Hover over it and select "Backup / Restore".
