End of Year Summary 2017-18

Intro

This was a very busy year, and my first year really in 24PinTech. There were many projects and a few work orders, and a lot of new and interesting things learned. I have greatly enjoyed this past year, it was worth every minute. I worked mostly on installing ITop and working with the monster known as FOG, along with a few other projects on the side that usually had to do with imaging as well.

My Role in 24PinTech

I feel that I have contributed a good bit with my involvement in our FOG server and getting it Microsoft Surface compatible, and the installation of the ITop server. I have spent a lot of time documenting the projects I have done so that future techs can replicate what I have done, improve upon it, or use it to repair issues in the future. I did about 9 work orders this year, which is not many, but I spent a lot of my time working on projects outside of the work order system. The work orders I was a part of were usually involved with imaging and repairing the Strut laptops we got, and imaging various other school laptops. I also worked with Reece to create a rough plan of how we should move the server rack into the other room.

My Accomplishments

I have earned a total of five TestOut certifications this school year. They are the Security Pro, PC Pro, Network Pro, Server Pro 2016: Install and Storage, and Linux Pro. I have begun working on Switching Pro and Routing Pro. I also placed second in the Arizona SkillsUSA ITS competition.

What I Learned

This year I have learned a lot from the various certifications I have worked on and earned this year. I have also gotten much more comfortable with Linux thanks to my work with FOG and ITop, and have learned how to manage those types of servers.

Conclusion

In conclusion, this has been a very productive and informative year for me, and has provided me with a lot of skills and information I will use in the future.
